Ginger Renee Davis Keith, 62 years old, of Campti, passed away on July 19, 2020, at Louisiana Extended Care Hospital in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
Graveside services will be at 10 am on Thursday, July 23, 2020, at United Baptist Church Cemetery in Campti, LA.
Ginger Keith was born March 29, 1958, to James Walter Davis and Juanita Hudson Davis at Ryukyus Army Hospital in Okinawa. She attended school in Bay County, Florida. She married Michael Clanton on March 29, 1976, in Bay County Florida, divorcing later and marrying Audy Wayne Keith in Coushatta, La later divorcing. She worked at Wal-Mart for many years in Natchitoches. One of the notable things was being in the movie Jaws while being filmed in Florida. She enjoyed needle point and crocheting
Ginger is preceded in death by her parents, James and Juanita Davis and a sister, Deborah Money.
Ginger is survived by her daughter, Melinda Cheatwood and spouse Eric of Campti; her son, Steven Enlow Clanton and spouse Cody of Campti; brother, Tommy Davis of Panama City, FL; grandchildren, Brittney, Hannah, and Michael and a great-grandchild, TJ.
Hazel Miller
A celebration of life for Hazel Bessie Wedgeworth Miller will be observed at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Many, LA. Her great nephew, Jeff Flenniken, and Mr. Winston Hodge will be officiating. Graveside service will follow at the Ft. Jesup Cemetery in Ft. Jesup, LA. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM on Thursday, July 23 with funeral beginning at 11:00 AM.
Hazel was born on March 13, 1929 in Many, LA. She left this earth to be with the Lord on July 19, 2020 at Many Healthcare North. She grew up in Many, LA where she attended Many High School. She was a devoted, charter member of Trinity Baptist Church of Many, LA, where she led and served faithfully for over 50 years. She was also a past member of the Eastern Star.
Hazel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She lived 91 years to the fullest. She enjoyed spending time and cooking for her family and friends. Her travels brought her to the Holy Land, Athens, Greece, and Hawaii to name a few. Her life was full of adventures including mission trips within the states.
Hazel loved her family more than life, and she had a gift of making her friends feel like family. She was a beautiful example of a fine Christian lady. Her life could be compared to the description of the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31. A Godly woman, her worth far above rubies. A Homemaker, always watching over her home and family. A wise woman of strength. Her children rise up and call her blessed.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sgt. C.J. Miller, Jr., her parents, Henry and Molly Wedgeworth and siblings, three brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by her daughter Frances Miller Hodge and husband Delmar of Zwolle, LA, two sons, Joey Miller and wife Janet of Baton Rouge, LA and Johnny Miller and wife Charlotte of Ft. Jesup, LA, eight grandchildren, fourteen great- grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild on the way.

Shirley, 77 years of age, passed from this life and entered into heaven on July 17, 2020. She was born on July 27, 1942 to Ray Lonnie Carpenter and Reva Sybil Johnson Carpenter in Natchitoches, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Tony Brown.
She is survived by her children, Kandi Cochran, Melodi Lane, and Jimmy Brown; a sister, Bobbie Pearsall; brothers, Billy Carpenter and Lonnie Carpenter. She was blessed with 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Even though we are saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing we will be reunited with her one day in heaven.

Sharen Ann Loveless Hebert, age 54, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2020. She was born November 17, 1965 to Allen and Pauline Loveless.
She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and friend. She was loved by many and family was her pride and joy. She spent her life caring for others as a Registered Nurse. Her love for people was unconditional and she never met a stranger. She will be truly missed.

Jerry Wayne Payne was born on February 28, 1957 to the parentage of the late John Wesley Payne and the late Doris Jean Below Payne in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Jerry passed away at his home on July 11, 2020 at the age of 63. Jerry was brought up in the Catholic faith, completing his sacraments and later serving as an altar server at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church. Jerry was reared in Natchitoches, Louisiana, graduating from Natchitoches Central High School in 1975. Jerry spent the majority of his adult life living and working in Shreveport, Louisiana and later Detroit, Michigan. He returned home to Natchitoches during the summer of 2005.
Jerry is predeceased by his parents John and Doris Payne as well as his infant brother Kenneth.
Jerry is lovingly remembered by his family which include five brothers: Dannie, Larry (Betty), Patrick (Layle), Christopher (DeVel), and Derrick, Sr. (Shantura) all of Natchitoches, Louisiana. His nephews and nieces: Damien (Natosha), Demarius, Demetrius, Dezmun (Diamond), Derrick, Jr., Brystian, Kyron, DiQuan, Patrick, Jr. and Brailyn. His great niece and nephews: Ayla, Weston and Daiquiri II. One uncle William (Charlene) Jackson of Cleveland, OH. Two aunts Celestine Hardison of Natchitoches, LA and Luella Below of Houston, TX. He also will be missed dearly by his cousins, relatives, friends and other acquaintances.
Jerry will be affectionally remembered for his sense of style and fashions. He often enjoyed listening to music, dancing and telling tall tales.

Guy F. Williams, 89, of Lake Charles, La. Went peacefully to his heavenly home on Sunday, July 12, 2020.
Guy was born on July 22, 1930 in Hornbeck, La. He passed away peacefully at his home. He was a 1947 graduate of Hornbeck High School. He was an Air Force Veteran and a devoted member and respected deacon at Trinity Baptist Church.
Guy’s life was full. He and Miss Carolyn had many great adventures traveling the country and enjoyed meeting new people and exploring new places together. He loved golf with his friends, numerous activities and duties at church, and spending time with family. Guy was passionate about children and whether they were family or not, these young people had a deep love and admiration for “Uncle” Guy. He dedicated himself to youth organizations such as Awana and Optimist International and the legacy he leaves with those organizations is a testament to the devotion and he will live on in the memories of the young lives he touched.
Guy is survived by his wife, Carolyn, his sister, Ann Cooper, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Guy is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Grace Williams, his brothers, Harry Williams, Royce Williams, Dale Williams, Lynn Williams, and sister, Myrtle Miller.

James Lester Metoyer
James Lester Metoyer Sr. (57) of Cloutierville, Louisiana, passed away on July 12, 2020, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born in Derry, Louisiana to parentage of Anthony and Augustine Rachal Metoyer on the 21st December 1962. James graduated from St. Matthews High School in 1981.
He married Elizabeth Rachal, the love of his life, in 1982, who survives him. James Sr. is also survived by son James L. Metoyer Jr. (Jennifer), and siblings: Mary Ida Below, Florence Rachal (James Ray), Betty Jo Roque (Charles), Cloteel Christophe (David), and Etheline Gallion (Johnny), host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. James Sr. was preceded in death by parents Anthony and Augustine Metoyer; sister, Adeline Pellerin and brother, Chester Metoyer.
James Sr. was a God-loving man, his church and faith meant everything. He was a behind the scenes type of person, working with the parish youth, participating in multiple church mission trips, making the needed repairs for his church, serving as Eucharist Minister – bringing Holy Eucharist to the sick, and as an avid Harley Davidson fan organized the church poker run ride for over ten years.
Family was the most important aspect of life to him. He was kind, gentle, and humble, always willing lending a helping hand to someone who needed it, whether they asked or not. His love to helping others led him to his career of maintenance work with the Natchitoches Parish Housing Authority for 26 years, fixing those little or major things.
The visitation will be held on July 14, 2020, at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, from 5 pm – 9 pm, Vigil starting at 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 15, 2020, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Cloutierville, Louisiana at 10 a.m., interment to follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, Cloutierville, Louisiana. Funeral Services for Mr. James Edwin ‟Jimmy” Gray, 72, of Bernice, LA, were held on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, LA.
Jimmy was former manager at Delta South Oil and Gas in Natchitoches, La., and worked at Ouachita Fertilizer in Monroe as a shipping dispatcher. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a love of taxidermy. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a Nike Hercules Missile Spec 5 and was stationed in Fort Polk, La., Fort Sills Ok., Okinawa, Japan and Fort Hamilton, NJ.
James was born on July 26, 1947 in Miami, Florida, and passed away on July 9, 2020 in Bernice, LA. ATT He is preceded in death by his parents, James Luther and Mary Estelle Gray.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather to his entire family and left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 31 years, Beverly Annette Gray of Bernice, LA; daughters, Kelly McCullin and husband Andy of Marion, LA; Kristy Roan and husband Andy of Farmerville, LA; Brittany Durr and husband Quentin of Ruston, LA; ATT sons, Jason Thomas and wife Tammy of Farmerville, LA; and James David Gray of Raleigh, NC. James was lovingly known by his siblings as “Little Jimmy” and is also survived by sisters, Brenda Marks, Pat Scroggins, and Jenny Gray; brothers, Billy Gray and Rodney Gray; 10 Grandchildren, Chelsi, Anna, Madison, Katlin, Mathew, Noah, Thomas, Drew, Hannah and Holly; 5 Great -Grandchildren, Eli, Iris, Kimber, Cypris, and Elayna; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also was a father to a special niece, Kristy Gray Vienne, who he helped raise and loved liked a daughter.
Jimmy was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and literally a “jack of all trades”. He loved his huge man-cave where he could design and build all sorts of objects and keepsakes for his wife, kids and grandkids. He also spent his leisure time in his recliner with his 6+ fur-babies which he and Annette dearly loved as children.

Fred was a graduate of Natchitoches High School. He served in the U. S. Army from 1958 to 1962, traveling extensively throughout the northeast. He worked in the auto parts business for over fifty years, beginning at McCain Auto Supply in 1968 and working there until the time of his death.
In his spare time, he enjoyed cattle farming and growing produce with his son on his property on Old River and hunting and fishing. He was riding his tractor just a couple of weeks before he died. Fred never met a stranger. Those who knew him delighted in the way he could spin out a clever tale or deliver a joke with perfect timing; he was knowledgeable and well versed on a wide array of topics. The eternal optimist, he was always happy and seemed not to have a worry in the world. He was a fixture at McCain’s, where every inventory item was at his fingertips.
Preceding Fred in death are his parents Ray Joseph Cardino and Thelma Page Cardino, his brother Jerry Wayne Cardino, and his sister Betty Lou White.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of fifty-eight years Edna Mae LaCaze Cardino, his brother Kenneth Gene Cardino of Shreveport, his daughter Monique Cardino Snowden and her husband Michael Fraser Snowden of Marietta, Georgia, his son Freddie Ray Cardino and his wife Elizabeth D. Cardino of Natchitoches, and three grandchildren: Joey Brown, Freddie Ray Cardino, Jr., and Madison Elizabeth Snowden.
Visitation will be at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home, 848 Keyser Ave., on Sunday July 12 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. The funeral service will be on Monday, July 13th at 10:00 a.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis. He will be buried next to his parents at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Natchez. Attendees are encouraged to wear masks and practice social distancing.

Raydon Maxie Thaxton was born on Friday, October 31, 1919 in Many, LA. He passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at his residence in Florien, LA. Raydon worked for the pipeline company for 17 years. After moving back from Beaumont, TX he became a farmer and rancher until he was 82 years old. The remainder of his years he worked for Brad Browning Cattle Company as Brad’s Foreman. He also served in the Navy for 6 years before and after WWII as a Petty Officer First Class.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Alva Thaxton; parents, Barto Thaxton and Katy Dell (Stewart) Thaxton; brothers, Lt. Robert Donald Thaxton and Thomas Bailey “T. B.” Thaxton and his sisters: Inez Davis, Bonnie Corley, Edith Thigpen, Christine Byrd, Myrtice Fridell and Irene Thaxton.
He is survived by his son, Michael Thaxton and fiancé Shirley Rodgers of Lumberton, TX; daughter, Judy Thaxton Johnson and husband E. J. of Austin, TX; grandson, Christopher Collins Thaxton; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary Jean Stallings
A private graveside service officiated by Dr. Allen Reed was held on July 6, 2020, at Sunset Memorial Park for Mary Jean Stallings, 73, of Nacogdoches.
Mrs. Stallings was born on April 29, 1947, at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital and passed away on July 4, 2020, at her home in Nacogdoches after a brief illness.
Jean was a dedicated Christian wife, mother and teacher. She was a graduate of Nacogdoches High School and earned a master’s degree at Stephen F. Austin University. Mrs. Stallings taught and influenced hundreds of children during her thirty five year career in public schools.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Moore, Jr. and Esterlene Blacksher Moore. She is survived by her husband, David Stallings; sons, Todd Stallings and Drew Stallings and wife, Katie; sister, Linda Guidry and husband, Bill; brothers, Buddy Moore and Tommy Moore and wife, Carla; sisters-in-law, Debra Gaston and Dayna Stallings-O’Con and husband, Tommy; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Jean was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Nacogdoches, which she loved. She was faithful to attend her Barnabus Sunday School Class.
She was a fantastic cook who loved making each Christmas and Thanksgiving special for her family using many of her mother’s recipes. Jean was a member of the Koinonia Study Club and also enjoyed playing cards and “Mexican Train” dominoes with her friends. She was the epitome of a Southern Lady.

Truman M. Durr
Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Truman M. Durr, 84, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Wallace Baptist Church in Pelican, Louisiana with Bro. Donny Durr officiating. Assisting the service will be Bro. Jeff Jinks. Interment will follow at Beulah Cemetery in Marthaville, Louisiana. Truman was born on September 6, 1935 in Rambin, Louisiana to J.Y. “Jake” Durr and Lillian Blue Durr. He entered into eternal rest on July 5, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Truman was the best all-around student of Ajax High School. He was involved with numerous organizations including Shriner’s Hospital, Lion’s Club, Freemasonry, President of The Battle of Pleasant Hill for over 25 years, Mayor of Pleasant Hill for 8 years, served on the Jury Commission in Sabine Parish for over 25 years, worked for BMA Insurance for more than 20 years, and later retired from Rose-Neath Funeral Home as a Funeral Director’s Assistant.
Preceding him in death are his parents, J.Y. Durr and Lillian Blue Durr; brother, Artis L. Durr; daughter-in-law, Donya Masters Durr; and great-granddaughter, Hannah Greene.
He is survived by his sons, Kevin Durr and wife Elvera of Philippines, Kerry Durr of Colorado, and Donny Durr and wife Stacey of Shreveport, Louisiana; daughters, Patti Durr McArthur of Keithville, Louisiana and Connie Durr Gates and husband Dwayne of Benton, Louisiana; sisters, Dorla Collins of Bossier City, Louisiana and Thelma Kreeger of Denver, Colorado; along with 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Honoring Truman as pallbearers will be Michael Greene, Eric Durr, Jared Durr, Connor Bullard, Jake Durr, Jeremy Durr, and Thomas Hardee.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Hardee, Sonny Hardee, Jerry Barnes, Jackie Bryant, Randy Collins, Wayne Dardeau, Jerry Lee Hilbert, and Marc Alexander Durr.

Jardis Cleo “JC” Bridges was born July 15, 1933 in Peason Ridge, LA to Andrew Lee Bridges, Sr. and Ethel (Cook) Bridges and entered into rest on July 3, 2020 in Shreveport, LA. Funeral services for him will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Brother Ron Sandifer and Brother Lee Dickson officiating; interment will be at Florien Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Bridges will be also be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from noon until service time at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Many Chapel.
JC was a member of the United States Air Force where he bravely and proudly served in the Korean War. He was also a member and deacon of Aimwell Baptist Church of Zwolle, LA. He was also a Gideon member. In his past time, he loved hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Lee Bridges, Sr.; his brother, Benny Bridges; his brother-in-law, AJ Spears; and sister-in-law, Connie Bridges . Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Betty J. Charlotte Smith Sbisa
Charlotte Smith Sbisa, 72, passed away June 16, 2020, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was the wife of Andrew Sbisa, the love of her life. They shared 43 years of marriage together.
Born in Natchitoches, Sept. 21, 1947, she was the daughter of Lucille Boyd and Collier E. Smith Sr.
Charlotte is survived by her husband, Andrew; a brother, Robert Smith (Joyce); sisters Linda Smith Lovejoy (Tom) and Margaret (Ginger) Smith Guin (Thomas); and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Collier (Bubba) Smith Jr.
A private graveside service will be at Fern Park Cemetery in Natchitoches. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Schevette Shontane Wysingle
Graveside services for Mrs. Schevette Shontane Calhoun Wysingle will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 10, 2020 at St. Mark Baptist Cemetery located in Allen, LA. Schevette’s family will receive friends on Friday morning from 8 AM until 10:30 AM in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA.
Mrs. Schevette Shontane Calhoun Wysingle was an undisputed gift to her family, her neighborhood and church. Her kind and gentle spirit was marked by her unconditional love for others. And her interaction with others could be counted on to be consistent, genuine and true to her God-given personality. She was born in Natchitoches Parish on May 24,1970 to the parentage of the late Mr. A.C.Calhoun and Classie Davenport Calhoun as the youngest of seventeen children which formed this family unit.
Being reared in a home where Christian values were taught and exemplified, Mrs. Wysingle was led to seek the Lord as her personal Savior, made a public confession of her faith, was baptized at the age of twelve in 1982 under the pastoral leadership of the Rev. Fluttie Jackson.
Schevette was married to the late Mr. Frederick Dwight Wysingle for 29 years and their matrimonial union was blessed with no children but with a host of nieces and nephews.
Schevette will be long remembered as a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, neighbor, and friend. While taking care of home, she loved to cook, smile, and look pretty as well as making sure everyone was happy. She had a big heart and she loved to help others. When it came to giving, she was always happy and never expected anything in return.
On Sunday, June 28, 2020, God called Schevette to her eternal home. Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, seven siblings, and one niece.

Truman Maynard
Truman Maynard closed the last chapter of a magnificent life on July 3rd, 2020 at 5:44 pm. As an Army officer and business man, Truman served his country, family and community with pride and dignity. He was surrounded by his loving family as he took his last earthly breath and slipped away peacefully. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Sheila Maynard of Natchitoches, Louisiana. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha Middleton Maynard, and their three children Lee Maynard and his wife Jennifer of Annapolis, Maryland, Jon Maynard and his wife Cherie of Oxford, Mississippi, and Patricia DeVilbiss of Lake Charles, Louisiana. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Connor Maynard of Starkville, Mississippi, Holly Maynard of Oxford, Mississippi, Haden DeVilbiss and Graham DeVilbiss of Lake Charles. Survivors also include his sisters Suzanne Lanuza of Tucson, Arizona and Christine Maynard of New Orleans.
Truman was a career Army officer who graduated from Northwestern State College in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission in the United States Army. He promptly married the love of his life, Martha Middleton and departed for his first duty assignment at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. His career in the Army included Army fixed wing flight school, where he graduated at the top of his class on the same day that his eldest son, Lee Maynard was born. He quickly departed for a year-long deployment to Viet Nam. Returning home in late 1963, Truman worked in various aviation assignments before being selected for a special operations group that would fly specialized Navy aircraft for Army reconnaissance missions in Vietnam. His second son, Jon Maynard was born in March of 1966, and Truman departed less than one year later to Vietnam with the 1st Radio Research Company flying the specially adapted P-2V Neptune designated the SP-2E.
After completing his second tour in Vietnam, Truman attended the Army’s Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He was assigned for one year as a student and then remained as an instructor in the department of tactics for another two years. His third child, Patricia, was born in Fort Leavenworth in 1971. After the Command and General Staff College, Truman returned to flight school to learn to fly UH-1 Huey helicopters, He was immediately deployed to Korea from 1973-1974 to utilize his new skill. Assigned to the 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Casey, he served as both staff officer and company commander flying missions near the DMZ.
Following his deployment to Korea, Truman and his family moved to Orlando, Florida where he was assigned to the US Army Training Device Agency as a project manager on both ground and aviation simulation projects. Most notably, Lieutenant Colonel Maynard was the project manager for the Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) that is still in use by the Army today. This system allowed a greater level of combat simulation by using lasers to designate “hits” on the battlefield. The Army awarded LTC Maynard with the Legion of Merit for his work on this system. This was a high honor for which he was very proud. Truman retired from the Army in April of 1980.
Upon retirement from the Army, Truman moved back to his hometown of Natchitoches, Louisiana to help his father run the family business. The Don Theatre Company operated mostly single screen movie theaters in central and north Louisiana. Truman helped to consolidate the theater chain down to two towns, Ruston and Natchitoches. In 1984 Truman ushered in the first multi-screen movie theatre complex in Natchitoches, the Parkway Cinema 4.
In 1988, Truman was recruited by former colleagues and offered a job at Xerox Special Information Systems in Pasadena, California. This job presented a new opportunity and challenges that were too much to resist. In 1988 he moved to Los Angeles and began a new career developing special projects for Xerox tied to Department of Defense requirements. This career lasted for over 18 years and offered Truman the opportunity to develop new products and meet new challenges the business world.
Truman retired from Xerox in 2006 and he and Martha moved to Natchitoches where he became very involved with their hometown. Truman helped to establish and grow the Northwestern State University ROTC Demon Regiment Alumni Association. In 2017, he was inducted into the NSU ROTC Hall of Fame.
Truman joined the Kiwanis club and became active in the Walter Ledet Coffee Club. He was active in the Sons of the American Revolution as well as the director for several Natchitoches Christmas Festival parades. Diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2015, Truman fought a battle with cancer that finally claimed his life on July 3rd, 2020.

Margie Remedies
Around The Town has been informed that Mrs Margie Remedies (far left in pic) has passed away. Margie Remedies, long time employee of the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office, passed away Friday, July 3rd. “Ms Margie” worked in the 911 office and helped develop the 911 maps for Sabine Parish in the early 1990s. She later became a 911 operator and radio dispatcher and still worked part time until 2018. She will be greatly missed by everyone at the department. There will be a graveside service for Mrs Margie on Saturday, July 11th at 10AM at St John the Baptist Catholic Church. Please keep her family in prayer.

Hilda Jane Hancock
Hilda Jane Hancock, age 84, passed away early Monday Morning, June 29, in Edmond, OK.
She was born October 16, 1936, in Phoebe, Mississippi, a daughter of the late John Hollis and Effie Bell Hudson.
Hilda was preceded in death by two husbands, Fred Allen Arnold and James Hancock, her sister Doyce Anderson, and her brothers, Paul Hudson, John Hudson, Steel Hudson and Don Hudson.
She spent the last 30 years of her life side by side with her beloved sister and now she is beside her again never to be separated.
Hilda is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Ralph Edward Arnold (Dottie) of Yuma, AZ, James Gary Arnold (Sandra) of Senatobia, Mississippi; one daughter, Judy Diane Forrest of Stanton, Texas; Grandchildren, Michael Shane Arnold, Ronald Jeffery Arnold, Michelle Glynanna Arnold, Alexandra Jane Arnold and Nicholas Edward Arnold, Chasity Hope Youngman, James Ryan Arnold, Jammie Diane Holland, Johnna Faye Forrest, and ten great grandchildren. She also leaves her dearly loved niece, Ramona Patton and her husband Robert Patton. There are many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.

Dudley D. Scarborough passed away at Willis-Knighton Pierremont in Shreveport, LA on Saturday June 28, 2020.
Due to the national pandemic with COVID-19, Mr. Scarborough’s family will not receive visitors and will have a private funeral for family members only. He will be buried at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, LA on Thursday July 2, 2020 at 11:00 o’clock a.m. His brother Terry Ray Scarborough will officiate. Those honored to be his pallbearers are Terry Scarborough, Lonny Carney, Jr., Joshua Mitchell, Landon Carney, Mark Dixon and Lonny Carney, Sr.
Mr. Scarborough was born on March 30, 1943 in Spanish Lake, LA. After graduating from Natchitoches High School he enlisted in the military and served his country in the United States Army from 1961 until 1964 at which time he was honorably discharged. He was a long time resident of Provençal, LA up until the time became a resident of Natchitoches Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Susie Garcia Scarborough. Brothers: Charlie L. Scarborough, Donald N. Scarborough and Carl Otis Scarborough. Sister: Minnie Scarborough. Most recently and too soon, his great nephew Dustin Scarborough and niece Gwen Scarborough Drews.
He is survived by his brother Terry Ray Scarborough and his sister-in-law Maggie Smith Scarborough (Otis). Nephews: Carl Wayne Scarborough, Terry Scarborough and Norm Scarborough (Toni). Nieces: Dianne LeJeune, Sherry Mitchell and Marti Dixon (Mark). Great nephews: Lonny Carney Jr. (Katie), Joshua Mitchell (Lauren), Cole Sarpy, Blake York and Kyle York. Great nieces: Mikaela Sarpy, Courtney C. Sarpy, Gabrielle Scarborough and Alyssa Scarborough. Great Great Nephew and Nieces: Haley, Landon, Adalyn, Avery, Stella. Alice Massey Rachal, 76 years of age and a resident of Campti, was born on March 26, 1944 in Flora, LA to Inez and Alfred Massey. She passed away in Natchitoches on Saturday, June 27, 2020. She was preceded in death by her mother, Inez Crow, father Alfred Massey; and nephew, Freddie Massey.

Alice was an active member of several organizations including International Reading Association, LASE, LASAFAP, Phi Delta Kappa, Alpha Delta Kappa, and Red Hats Sisters Club of Natchitoches Parish. She is an alumnus of Northwestern State University, graduating with a Masters +30 in education. She was also involved in several public relations, program developments, and professional services in the educational field. Alice had a love for teaching and working in education, committed and dedicated since the summer of 1967 where she started as a remedial reading teacher at Natchitoches Central High School. She went on to teach and supervise in various job titles throughout the years. Her last job was as the Director of Federal Programs in Natchitoches from 1987 until 2003. She also enjoyed playing pokeno and mahjong in her spare time. She will be dearly missed by those who loved and knew her.
Dorothy White Lindsey
O what a glorious day! Heaven is celebrating the precious reunion of Dot and W.B. Lindsey, united again in the presence of Christ.
A service to celebrate the life of Dorothy White Lindsey will be held at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home on Saturday, June 27, 2020. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM with services beginning at 2:00 PM. Reverend Tommy Rush will officiate. A graveside service will follow at Liberty Baptist Cemetery in Martin, Louisiana.
Dorothy was born February 16, 1926 to Jesse Lawrence White and Lucille Rawls White in Red River Parish, Louisiana. She was a loving wife and mother and a wonderful grandmother and friend.
Dorothy grew up on the family farm in the Martin Community near Coushatta, Louisiana. She loved working and playing outdoors, preferring to hoe and pick cotton rather than sweeping floors and washing dishes. Her favorite pastime was clearing vines and undergrowth out of the woods and burning them with her sister. Give her a “burn pile,” and she was content.
Mrs. Dot was an accomplished seamstress and sewed most of the clothing she and her girls wore. She loved every kind of needlework, but especially quilting. Mom loved Jesus and her church. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Natchitoches for over seventy years, and was faithful in attendance until the last few years when health rendered attendance impossible.
She was well-known and well-loved wherever she went, and was always available to friends and family in times of need. She was beloved for her delicious coconut cake that often found its way to the kitchens of local friends.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Wilder Bloomer Lindsey, her parents Jesse Lawrence White and Lucille Rawls White, brother Wiley Gahagan White, sister Junetta Laverne White Abraham, one grandson Alex Lindsey Gruber, and one great grandson JLB LaBenz.
Dorothy is survived by her brother Odra Franklin White; three daughters, Wilder Lane Book and husband Don of Natchitoches, LA, Patricia Ann Gruber and husband Max of Anthem, AZ, and Ginger Lindsey Picone of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren, Troy Neil Book and wife Teri, Eric Lindsey Book and wife Kelley, Gregory Ward Book and wife Dawn, Tara Book Koehler and husband Shane, Anna Gruber LaBenz and husband Mike, Lisa Gruber Jones and husband Dustin, James Wilder Picone, Leslie Allison Picone, eighteen great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Virginia, 67 years of age, passed away June 21, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was a dedicated wife of 49 years, a loving mother and grandmother. She was a woman of faith and put her trust in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She attended Oasis of Love Fellowship and was a loyal member for 40+ years and enjoyed fellowship with her church family. In 2017 she retired from teaching at Oasis of Love Christian Academy after 24 years of service.

Dr. Charles “Charlie” Edward Viers, Jr.
Dr. Charles “Charlie” Edward Viers, Jr., 78 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away on June 24, 2020, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, LA after a lengthy illness.
He was born at home in Prichard, WV to Charles E. Viers, Sr. and Gertrude Ival (Rayburn) Viers. Being raised in rural West Virginia to a farmer and an educator, Charlie learned the value of hard work and a good education. Charlie was a 1959 graduate of Buffalo High School in Buffalo, WV. He attended Marshall University and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology in 1964, his masters from Kansas State in 1967, and a PhD in Wildlife Biology from Arizona University in 1970. He accepted a position with Northwestern State University in 1970 and was celebrated for his skills as an educator whose passion for knowledge translated to the classroom. There was never a student he was unwilling to help become better than the day before. Charlie retired from NSU in 2000 and began his second career as an artist. He learned his craft of pine needle basketry from Native American tribes local to Louisiana and became known across the state for his innovative and colorful design language. Charlie always said that a glass of wine helped get the colors to shine a little brighter and 2 glasses made the curves of his baskets a little curvier. Everyone who knew Charlie knew of his passion for long distance running. He began running in the 1960’s and over the years competed in over 200 marathons across the United States, Canada, and Europe. He is a member of the exclusive 50 State Marathon Association and several other prestigious athletic organizations.
He will forever be remembered as a gifted intellect with a wry wit that lived life to the fullest.
He is survived by a son, Casey Edward Slingin Viers of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a sister Sue Tobin, and a brother Roger Viers.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father and a sister Jane Fry.

Tommy Coleman
On Monday, June 15, 2020, the Coleman family of Natchitoches lost its guiding light when Tommy Coleman passed away from natural causes at his home in Holly Lake Ranch, Texas. Born in Natchitoches to Morris and Mickey Coleman in 1942, Tommy was the fourth of six children.
After graduating from high school in 1961, Tommy joined the U. S. Army and deployed to Germany for three years. In the Army, Tommy was responsible for personnel and payroll, but he also found time to travel the country and make lifelong friends.
Upon his return to the United States in 1965, Tommy worked a stint on the oil rigs in Hobbs, N.M., then sold plastics back home in Louisiana. The fast-paced, challenging world of sales was a natural fit for the charismatic, ambitious young man. In 1970, Tommy moved from Monroe to the big city of Dallas. Tommy spent the next 40 years in Dallas and forged a successful career in sales.
At Bylo Manufacturing Corporation, a growing laminated plastics and countertop company, Tommy rose to become Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He later accepted a position as National Accounts Manager for Iowa-based VT Industries, Inc., and was subsequently promoted to Central Regional Sales Manager with territory from Texas to Canada. Energetic, organized and professional, Tommy always exceeded sales goals and quotas, and was loved by customers and co-workers alike.
While a strong work ethic propelled his career, Tommy’s interpersonal skills made him a truly beloved person in the building materials industry. With a joke, a little dance step or a perfectly timed remark, Tommy could calm a tense situation or instantly turn a business meeting from boring to fun. He logged countless thousands of miles traveling during his sales career, and made friends all along the way. Tommy’s motto was “Enjoy yourself whether you’re having a good time or not,” and he embodied that ideal in both his business and private life.
While Tommy’s professional life was successful and meaningful, he also enjoyed a fulfilling personal life. With his loving wife, Barbara, by his side for 33 years, Tommy enjoyed frequent trips to visit his children and grandchildren in Washington, D. C., Newport, R.I., Pittsburgh, Pa. and Austin, Texas. He also spent many weekends and holidays with family and friends in Natchitoches. In addition to his lifelong love of golf, Tommy enjoyed fishing, music, movies and his Cadillacs. He held Dallas Cowboys season tickets through the team’s Super Bowl seasons in the 1990s, and he loved to fire up the grill and entertain friends and family at home when the team played on the road.
After retiring from VT Industries in 2010 and moving permanently to Holly Lake Ranch in east Texas (where he and Barbara had maintained a weekend home for years prior), Tommy dove into service with the Kiwanis Club, serving as regular member, board member and then president of the organization. He was immensely proud of the work the Holly Lake Ranch Kiwanis Club did to promote the core Kiwanis belief that the most effective way to enhance a community is to enhance its children — providing programs to inspire children and young adults, as well as funding college scholarships, building handicap ramps and distributing hundreds of American flags to area homeowners.
Although Tommy died unexpectedly, he spent his final days in the loving company of his wife, children and grandchildren. Tommy is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean; daughter, Elizabeth Nicole; son, Michael Thomas; grandchildren, Mai-Li, Mica and Autumn; brothers, Gary and Robert; numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends and associates.
Frankie DeLane Mouser
Funeral services honoring the life of Frankie DeLane Mouser will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2020 at San Patricio Baptist Church in Converse, Louisiana with Rev. Jimmy Price officiating. Frankie was born on March 20, 1964 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Thomas and Elsie Mouser. He entered into eternal rest on June 23, 2020 in Converse, Louisiana.

LINDA SYNDER JAMES
Memorial services will be Monday, June 29 at noon in Martin & Castille’s La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette for Linda Snyder James, 69, who passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 24, 2020 at The Carpenter House – St. Joseph Hospice in Lafayette.
Linda’s family, that she so loved and adored, was by her side. Visitation will be at Martin & Castille’s Southside location Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
The Rev. John Cannon, Senior Pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church in Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 49 years, Carl Edgar “Ed” James; daughter, Christy James Prejean and husband, Tim; son, Shane James; granddaughter, Zoe Prejean; and two sisters, Jackie Stephens and husband Jerry and Gail Ponder and husband Stewart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Crawford Snyder and Ouida Brown Snyder.
A native of Lake Charles and resident of Lafayette, Linda was a loving wife, mother, “MiMi”, sister and aunt. She raised two loving kids and was extremely active in the Civitan Club based in Lafayette. She was also active in Cancer Awareness fund raising events and organizations, helped fund animal rights organizations, and a major supporter in donations to Goodwill and the Salvation Army. Linda proudly supported the Armed Forces of The United States of America. Various organizations she was actively involved in were Red Hat Club, numerous Pokeno Groups and several Mardi Gras organizations. She was also part owner in a bridal company called Something Borrowed and Something New.
Linda loved football, especially her LSU Tigers, the New Orleans Saints and Northwestern State University Demons. She also loved helping organize baby showers, weddings and family gatherings, and enjoyed her time traveling across the country in her raised top customized van. She attended numerous casinos and planned casino visits around vacation trips. She was a firm believer and supporter of the slogan “shop ’til you drop.” Linda also enjoyed shopping with her baby girl “Zoe.” Lastly, she never met a stranger and LOVED to talk!!!

Marvin “Bear” Powell
Marvin Powell age 68, passed away on June 25, 2020. He was born on June 21, 1951 in Many, LA to Bill and Betty Mae Jenkins Powell.
The first born of nine children, he was the inheritor of many exceptional qualities from his father and mother, treading through life with the softness of his mother and, as his father, fiercely protecting and fighting for what matter most, family. Carrying the nickname “Bear” for most of his life, his burly, stout exterior expressed what lay just beneath the surface: a love that was constant, faithfulness to his family and friends, and an unquenchable devotion to care for and provide. In many respects, his heart was larger than life, and in meeting him, you could not help but look past the “Bear” and fall in love with the kind smile and friendly nature that he carried through life. Bear was not sure how to complain, and though he faced difficulty with his health in later years, if asked how he was feeling, he would smilingly respond, “with my fingers!”. He was an avid sportsman, coon hunting with his sons, accompanied by his many treasured dogs, and roping and chasing cows. The visiting nature that made him so friendly, also brought Bear to invest himself in his community, as a proudly accomplished Freemason of Marthaville Lodge #453, a longtime Sabine Parish Sherriff’s Deputy, and an eight-year local Police Juror. Alongside his daddy and brothers, he worked hard for the family logging business, until carrying on his father’s entrepreneurialism and starting his own company in 1981, Bear’s Lumberton Company, Inc. He passed on those same skills to his own sons. Later in life, he began a friendship with his future wife, Teresa, that grew into a loving companionship and culminated in their marriage on March 4, 2004. Spending the next 16 years side by side, they worked together on many other business ventures: setting up the ever delicious Chuck Wagon across from Marthaville school; developing a love for bartering and trading that lead to Mama Bear’s Tradin’ Post; and working alongside his son, Bill, with Bear Powell Enterprises. Bear made up his own rules when it came to certain things, and like any Powell, his competitiveness was not always subtlety expressed, especially when on the losing side. For many years he played dominos with his father and friends, but one of his most treasured times were with his baby girl, Rebecca, playing Shanghai Rummy, a card game he learned from a longtime friend. Just as his mother, fishing was in his blood, and he enjoyed many hours on the water, with his proudest catch being a 50 lb. catfish. Bear loved like few men did, and his giant character and gentle nature will live on in the memories and spirits of his family.
Left to honor his memory is his loving wife of 16 years, Teresa Davis Powell; sons, Bill Powell of Marthaville, LA, Dakota Powell and wife, Natasha, of Robeline, LA, and Clinton Ray Powell and wife, Katie, of Marthaville, LA; daughter and baby girl, Rebecca Powell and husband, Ryan; step-children, Valerie Ramsey and husband, Wayne, of Galloway, TX, James Walker and wife, Tryphena, of Joaquin, TX, and Amanda Powell of Robeline, LA; beloved friend, 1st wife, and mother of his three oldest children, Elsie Yvonne Powell; brothers, Alton Powell and wife, Susan, of Marthaville, LA and Stacy Powell and wife, Dana, of Marthaville, LA; sisters, Loretta Greifzu of Robeline, LA, Lawanna Singletary and husband, Jason, of Marthaville, LA, and Laura Strahan and husband, Steven, of Marthaville, LA; grandchildren, Shelton Powell and wife, Paige, Marvin Powell, Wendy Powell, Hunter Powell, Makayla Powell, Chasity Powell, Summer Person, Keith Shoemaker, Adrian Ramsey, Cole Powell, Kinley Powell, Kam Powell, James Walker Jr., Emmaline Walker and Josephine Walker; great-grandchild, Ellie Mae Powell; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.
Preceding Marvin in death are his parents and brothers, Nolan Powell Sr., Dana Dean Powell, and Garland Powell.
A graveside service honoring his life will be Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 10:00 am at Cedar Grove Cemetery, 4524 Cedar Grove Rd., Robeline, LA, with Bro. Glynn Howard officiating. Family and friends are invited to arrive for a visitation starting at 9:00 a.m., prior to his graveside service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Greifzu, Nolan Powell Jr., Derek Singletary, Colton Singletary, Wesley Powell, Phillip Strahan, Marvin Powell, and Shelton Powell.
Mabel Joy Bullock
Funeral services celebrating the life of Mabel Joy Bullock will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 22, 2020 at The Pentecostals of Alexandria G.A. Mangun Center with Reverend James Whitehead, Reverend Dennis Brown, Reverend Jeff Stroud, and Reverend Craig Martin officiating. Burial will be in Mars Hill Cemetery, Verda under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.
The family requests that visitation be observed at the church Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Pallbearers will be Calvin Hudson, Kenny Brady, Jason Parks, Blake Parks, Ricky Deen, and Brent Davidson.
Mrs. Bullock, 89, of Alexandria, passed from this life on Friday, June 19, 2020.
Mrs. Bullock was a very active member in her church United Pentecostal Church, Montgomery. She was married at 16 to her husband “D.J.” and enjoyed spending time with her family. Mabel was known for her wedding and birthday cakes decorating skills.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas J. Bullock; parents, Samuel Lee and Jewell LeBaron Brady; brother, Kenneth Brady; grandchildren, Brad Bullock, and Jennifer McMillian, and great grandson, Chase McMillian.

Edward Earl Tolar
Mr. Edward Earl Tolar, 90, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at the Courtyard of Natchitoches after a lengthy illness. His wife, Mrs. Nelda Faye Tolar, passed away on April 20, 2020. A joint service for Mr. and Mrs. Tolar will be held Monday, June 22nd, at the First Baptist Church of Natchitoches at 10:00 am, with Mr. Tolar’s viewing at 9:00 am. A graveside service for Mr. Tolar will immediately follow the service at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Saline, LA.
Edward was a native of Wyatt, LA and resided in Natchitoches since 1958. He was a faithful, devoted and loving husband for 68 years and enjoyed a close relationship with his immediate and extended family. As a member of the First Baptist Church, Edward was active in the Adult Choir and the Couples Too Sunday School class. He served as a deacon, leader in Royal Ambassadors and Boy Scouts, and taught teens and preschool children. Edward’s love of the woods and trees led him to serve his community for 25 years as a state forester. He also served as a volunteer in the Lions Club and enjoyed LSU football and baseball, hunting, fishing, and grilling.
Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda Tyler Tolar; his parents, William Henry and Bessie Lagrone Tolar; his brothers, W.H. Tolar, Jr., George H. Tolar, James Stovall Tolar, Dan Tolar, Thomas “Pete” Tolar, Alfred Tolar and sister, Tillie Tolar Caileff. He is survived by his brother, John David Tolar; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Earl and Brenda Goodwill Tolar of Minden; daughter, Sonja Tolar Popovich of Natchitoches; and, son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Paul and Charlotte Olson Tolar of Huntsville, Alabama. Edward and Nelda Tolar were blessed with 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Clara Poche’ Vercher
Funeral service for Mrs. Clara Poche’ Vercher will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 20, 2020, in the Chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Ray officiating. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Cloutierville, LA with Rev. Christian Ogbonna providing the rite of committal. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Friday, June 19th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7 pm on the 19th in the funeral home chapel.
Clara, 84 years of age and a long-time resident of Cloutierville, passed away June 16, 2020, in Natchitoches. She was born on January 14, 1936 to Elmer L. Poche’, Sr. and Alice Brossette Poche’ in Cloutierville, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 52 years, Donald L. Vercher, and her brothers, Lynn D. Poche’ and Elmer L. Poche’. She was a long-time parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville and was a devout Catholic lady. She worked for many years and retired from the City of Natchitoches utility department. She will be forever remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Stephen Donald Vercher and his wife Teresa; a daughter Sandra Kay Waters and her husband Robert; grandchildren, Mandy C. Vercher, Brandi L. Vercher, Corey D. Vercher and Margaux M. Waters; great grandchildren, Dillon Vercher, Kiera J. Beechem, Everleigh Watson, and Aria Vercher; a sister, Pauline Poche’ Rachal; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Steven Wade Rodrigues
Steven Wade Rodrigues, 49, of Many, LA passed away suddenly on June 17, 2020 while in his sleep. Steven was known for his love of family, friends, and freedom. The business owner and Marine Corp Veteran was quick to make friends and never met a stranger.
Steven is survived by his adoring wife Kim, their children Keely of Headland, AL, Jacob of Demopolis, AL, and Teagan of Many, LA and Father-in-law Grady Burl Cotton. Three overprotective older sisters, Sharon Lunbeck, Kayla Hataway (Larry), and Ramona Mason, who lovingly referred to him as the “Golden Child” since he was the only son. Numerous nieces and nephews, who loved their fun uncle. Host of uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, and Marine Corp brothers.
His parents Ernest and Shirley Rodrigues and Mother-in-law Jo Ellen Cotton of Many preceded Steven in death.
Steven was born in Many, LA on July 21, 1970. He proudly joined the Marine Corp, after graduating Many High School in 1988. He was a decorated machine gunner veteran of the first Gulf War.
After serving his country, he returned home before eventually landing in Demopolis, AL where he started River City Fencing Company. He moved back to Many in 2018 to be closer to family, and continue his father’s legacy by operating Shirrod Fencing.
Steven filled his time with being with family and friends. He loved pranks, sending funny videos, overall doing anything to make people laugh and smile. He and Kim always enjoyed hosting friends at their home from far and wide. He enjoyed coaching, traveling to watch his kids play sports, and camping on the “river”.
Steven’s passing is difficult for all that knew him, but we all know he lived life to the fullest everyday. He will truly be missed, SEMPER FI Marine!
Services will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church in Many, LA on Monday, June 22, 2020 at 10AM. Burial will follow at St. John’s cemetery. Masks will be required. Visitation at Warren Meadows Funeral home starting at 5PM on Sunday, June 21, 2020.
Pallbearers: Ronald Mason, Tony Mason, Chris Richardson, Christopher Rodrigues, Ryan Rodrigues and Neal Shoemaker.

James (Jimmy) Hurd was born on Wednesday, November 11, 1964 in Brunswick, GA. He passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Willis Knighton North in Shreveport, LA.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Hurd; grandparents; uncle, Bob Anson; and nephew Roy Glenn Sexton.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Hurd of Noble, LA; son, Michael Hurd and wife Loree of Noble, LA; daughter, Jessica Hurd and fiancé Dakota Smith of Converse, LA; mother, Barbara Hurd of Missouri; sisters, Helen Langston of Missouri and Janice Adkisson and husband Dennis of Missouri; brother, David Hurd and wife Kim of Missouri; grandchildren: Ian Hurd, Ayden Hurd, Elizabeth Smith, Aubree Smith and Olyvia Hurd; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Timothy Karl White
Celebration of life services for Mr. Timothy Karl White will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2020, at Grace Baptist Church, Cloutierville, with Brothers Joey Ducote and Joe Jenkins officiating and music by Brother Mackey Willis and Family, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mr. White, 57, of Flatwoods, was called home on Thursday, June 18, 2020, in Flatwoods, LA.
He was a construction carpenter and roofer and worked with the state on the Boll Weevil Project. He married his high school sweetheart on July 25, 1981 and they were married for thirty-eight years. He loved hunting and fishing, gardening and serving the Lord. He was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church of Cloutierville and was ordained as a minister on October 25, 1989. He loved his family and was known, especially to the grandkids, as “Grampy”. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Miller and Nera White and his brother-in-law, James Slatten.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife, Sheila White, of Flatwoods; two sons, Randy White and his wife, Tressie, of Flatwoods and Jody White, of Flatwoods; three brothers, Eugene White and his wife, Lena, of Boyce, Gary White, of Lena and Ricky White and his wife, Carolyn, of Fifth Ward; two sisters, Sandra Brister and her husband, Daniel, of Elmer and Janet Slatten, of Pineville; three granddaughters, Katelyn Feazel and her husband, Taylor, of Montgomery, Paige Tyler, of Pineville and Madison White, of Bordelonville and one great grandchild, Clay Ryder, of Pineville.
Marjory Jean Todtenbier
Marjory Jean Schadler Todtenbier (Marg), age 88, passed away and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 11, 2020, in Gainesville, GA. Marg was born in Covington, Kentucky on August 20, 1931, where she graduated from Holmes High. She furthered her education attending Miami University in Ohio, where she was also a member of the Sigma Phi Kappa Sorority. Marg worked as a stenographer at a Law Firm prior to marrying Edward R Todtenbier and moving to Madison, Indiana.
Marg had five children while living in Indiana settling in Anderson, Indiana where she and her husband began opening several Frisch’s Big Boy stores in Indiana. In 1967, Marg moved to Chesterfield, Missouri where she and her husband spent several years opening six additional restaurants called Tote’s Big Boy. In 1970, Marg moved to Natchitoches, Louisiana where she raised her children and primarily lived until moving to Gainesville, Georgia with her daughter, Beth St Andre.
While living in Natchitoches, Louisiana, Marg furthered her education completing her degree at Northwestern State University in 1980 and attended the First United Methodist Church in Natchitoches. Marg enjoyed sewing, quilting, bowling, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made blankets and Christmas stockings that will be cherished for many years. Marg’s favorite past time was watching Fox News.
Marg was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Dorothy Schadler; her brothers Robert and John Schadler; Edward Todtenbier, the father of her five children; and two sons Ren and Dan Todtenbier.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Todtenbier and Beth St. Andre (husband Dan), son Jay Todtenbier, nine grandchildren; Ryan Todtenbier (Erika), Sadie Hoffman, Dana Hoffman, Heather Robinson (Brian), Cassie Childers (Lee), Jennie Tolbert (Michael), Daniel Todtenbier, Amanda Todtenbier, Bailey Todtenbier, and eleven great grandchildren.
Marg will be dearly missed by her family and friends..

Judy Lee Bolton Provost
Judy Lee Bolton Provost was born September 25, 1951 and passed away June 15, 2020 at the age of 68. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruby Bolton and her loving husband of 44 years, Kyle Provost.
Judy had a giving heart, and she loved to help her cats. She even adopted all the strays around her. She was very much up to date on the genealogy of her family. Judy loved to know all she could about her family. If you needed to know who-was-who, she was the one to go to.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Ann Marie Bolton of Leesville; brothers, Raymond Bolton and wife Donna of Georgia, Johnny Norman Bolton of Leesville, and Richard Bolton and wife Jeannie of Leesville; and a host of nephews, nieces, and extended family.
